Astraeus, the Major.
This violin of the Viennese school, whose maker we are not fortunate enough to know, has a powerful and crisp sound. Despite its length of 36.2cm, far beyond standard measurements, it retains extraordinary handling in the hand, soon making us forget its size. In ancient times, measurements were much less standardized, and Stradivari himself produced instruments that we would consider excessive today.
Size matters, but not only 😉
